For the last decade and a half, I’ve been trying to figure out how to tell my creative fantastic journey within the VFX industry and what my experiences felt like. The concept was going to be a surreal story about an artist who finds himself working on a beloved dark steampunk fantasy with a WW1 trench theme titled “The Trench dogs and the Hell Hounds” which his first job is on this project as a roto/paint artist, and finally ending 20 years later on the 10th sequal to the franchise and he’s just a ….Senior roto/paint artist. This story would intermix scenes of “Hell Hound” and his actual production life, making him start to question which is the reality and which is the fantasy. Although I wrote about 245 incomplete pages for a story that never ended, I decided that maybe it’s time I just draw them out as a series of pictures.
Dot DPX series
“Dot_DPX: The creative industry and its lures”
The reveal of the entire experience is that the artist’s teacher, mentor, and eventual boss was nothing more than the animated Lure to steal your soul for a gigantic demonic spiritual angler fish feeding on the dreams of millions of creative people. This is actually the reveal of the end….So I decided to draw it first and work backwards…

The Fae Trade
The Fae Trade is a concept that asks the question “What if modern day humanity found a portal into the mythical world of Faes?” The end result is the capturing, explotation, and experimentation of Faes. This collection of captured fae in bottle miniatures features five figurines showing the end result of first contact with human beings.
Miniatures are not for sale but will be on display in the DTLA Art Gallery for the month of February 2025
Year 1 - captured wingless elder (first contact)
Year 2 - Clipped Faemazon warrior (first conflict)
Year 5 - Infected cordyceps fae (diseases brought by humans)
Year 10 - Harvested Wingless Fae (Pharmaceutical purposes)
Year 30 - Post human contact Faemazon Warrior
The Lord of Wolves series
One concept that has always captivated me was the possiblity that the only advantage homo sapiens had over neanderthals was the early domestication of dogs. If this hypothesis was correct, would homo sapiens appear as demons commanding wolves and bringing the end to everything neanderthals hold dear?
